Mr. Mohun was born at Chigwell, England in 1838. He arrived in Victoria in 1863 and worked throughout the province as a land surveyor. Mr. Mohun finished his surveying career working for the City of Victoria in the planning department  before he died in Victoria, B.C. in 1927. The body of water known as Mohun Lake was named after Mr. Mohun around 1945.
